If you are driving a tank down the road at a decent speed and it hits an AT mine it will spin out and expose its flank in the direction of which it was driving. Now you may be saying mines are still useless because they just cause a broken track, but they are not entirely useless in that regard. If its an AT mine it will detrack the vehicle or may cause it to explode if it is a light vehicle. If a vehicle runs over an AP mine the mine just explodes and nothing happens to the vehicle (unless it's a jeep, truck, or other very light vehicle, in which case an AP mine will cause it to explode). I think maybe you ran over an AP mine instead of an AT mine.
